... would someone mind explaining to me what the bloody hell happened over the past few days? Honestly, I can't look away for a moment without everything somehow going tits-up, can I?

I hate this infernal place.

And Antonio? If you're really not as stupid as you look and you actually know what's good for you, you won't even dare trying to talk to me.

[When the video feed switches itself on, it seems to be because someone's just chucked something on top of the keyboard. That someone, of course, would be England, and as the video comes into focus it's clear that the room that he and the laptop are in is in a state of complete disarray that seems quite out of character for him.

England's kneeling on the floor amid a small pile of things. There's several cupboards open with their contents strewn all over the floor (but in a way that makes you think they've been put down there very carefully). After a few seconds with his head stuck in the nearest cupboard, England sits back with a heavy, irritated sigh.]

Where the hell is it? I could have sworn I left it around here somewhere.

[He goes on to mutter something along the lines of "it can't have just got up and walked off on its own" and seems about to get up when his gaze falls on a messy pile of typewritten leaflets lying nearby. His eyes narrow and he scowls a little at the sight of them before he reaches for them and starts tearing them up, quite methodically, into little pieces.]


((OOC: Obligatory Historical Note - the leaflets thing? The German planes who were flying over the country in the Battle of Britain during early August started dropping leaflets of Hitler's speeches on towns and cities. No joke.))

I suppose it's started, hasn't it? It hardly seems two minutes since Dunkirk but now we've come to this. France has fallen, there's not much we can do for him them from here for now, and the Channel Islands have gone as well, but Germany's having a laugh if they think that we're going to crumble that easily, let alone just lie down and let them invade. They might be bombing our convoys and sending planes over our airspace but I'm damned if we're going to make it easy for them! It'll take a hell of a lot more than that for us even to bend.

That being said, there have been a few raids. Nothing too serious, and thankfully there's been little damage, all things considered. But I can't help feeling that this is only just the beginning. From here on in, we'll just have to grit our teeth and see what they throw at us.
